Tidbits from Tokyo Marathon 2015

Tokyo Marathon 2015
42.195 kilometers and 3°C worth of "ganbattes!", shots of Pocari Sweat, assorted chocolates, frozen bananas, piping hot tea, dancers, cheering squads, cosplayers... #TokyoMarathon2015, you were a blast! :)

Postcards from the Past/Just Did It, Done That Series (Nike We Run SG 2013)

Singapore, Singapore-- Exactly a year ago, I was running on the hot and spotless roads of Singapore for the Nike We Run series. I wasn't able to post about my run then (as I was busy spending post-Halloween screaming my head off in Universal Studios, and catching up with my brother who was based there).

For some sad, sad, sad reason, there will be no Nike We Run 2014 series to be held here in Manila (or Singapore) this year. The most feasible run I could sign up for was the Kuala Lumpur leg in Malaysia, which unfortunately, coincides with the Condura Skyway Marathon 2015 wherein I'm also signed up for. Aww. Thus, I found it apt to post my photos for this occasion. So, do travel back in time with me, and let's both enjoy the Nike Run that might have been. ;) haha. Drama ba?

Enjoy, lah!

Sibling running revelry goes to Singapore!

Nike We Run SG marshals in rollerblades. How cool is that? ;)

Nike We Run SG will make you run. And make a choice.

I chose to run "off the beaten path" and it took me running on the grass in the park. They gave out frozen grapes! (Hmm, now I wonder what they were giving out on the other side of the grass? Probably something greener maybe? haha)

Running on the smooth and spotless roads of Singapore. It was scorching hot!

And to your right, Chinatown!

We've probably ran half the city by now. ;)

To groove or to rock out? Decisions, decisions...

They say running helps clear up your head to make the best decisions.

What would you do?

I decided to groove to the DJ's beat and dance to the finish!

From start to finish. We've come full circle now.

We sped through the F1 race track. Awesome!

Massage? Oh, yes, please!

My lil' bro, Jerwin, in the Nike We Run official finisher's shirt.

Freshly-made roti curry for breakfast at the VIP Area. Yummy!

Congratulations for a great event, Team Nike Singapore!

Postcards from the Temple Run (1st Angkor Empire Marathon 2014)

Siem Reap, Cambodia-- I couldn't help but take photos during the race (so distracting though. haha). Saying that I've immortalized this run would be an understatement. You simply cannot capture the full majesty of Angkor, but I hope that you enjoy "running with me" as you sit back and mentally plan for your (future) Temple Run.

Enjoy! ;)

Disclaimer: Trigger happy runner. Bandwidths, please bear with me.

Philippines... Present!
L-R; April, Joel, Jinoe (of Takbo.ph), Roselle (Running Diva), and me.

At the 42K starting line.

The city of Siem Reap at dawn.

En route to Angkor.

Cows to keep us company.

Evenly spaced out water stations.

Sweet green bananas at the fueling station.

First of the many temple sightings.

Photo op courtesy of a friendly runner from Hong Kong.

The heat is on in Angkor.

The Bayon Temple is awesome.

Right on.

Coffee break at the half way mark.

Jinoe (of Takbo.ph) running strong.

They say marathoners are crazy, border lining basket case. I agree.
(Now, where's that basket case badge of mine?)

At around this point, don't mind if I do!

Photo op here.

Welcome to the countryside.

Smiles and cheers from the kids of Cambodia.

Much needed cookie rush.

It's getting hot...

You can't help but slow down before you pass these entryways.

Long, dusty... takes your breath away.

The Elephant Terrace perimeter.

The Bayon Temple. A must.

Elephants and runners crossing.

Almost there. Traffic!
Angkor Run Finishers! Hooray!
