Right Round

Totally random. Totally mundane.

I just love how Marks & Spencer's thoughtfully designed round tea bags fit perfectly in your mug. Plus, it's ergonomically correct to rest on your baggy eyes too (reusing cooled tea bags is a great solution to soothe tired peepers)!

Now, if only everything else in life fits just as perfect and makes just as much sense.

I'm so stressed!

Sigh.

(Heya, Universe. I'd better be back up on that bilog ang mundo thing by tomorrow.)

Martinis & Aprons

{Martinis & Aprons: A Lifestyle Cookbook for Those Who Like to Entertain}
{Available in Fully Booked}

I may not have achieved my full marathon dreams for this year (Subic and Singapore was a bust). Call me a drama queen, but I think it's suffice to say that I have gone through the same rigorous work and training that goes with it. Lo and behold, after almost 2 years in the making, the 487-page lifestyle cookbook is finally out!

Working with the rest of the team (I miss all the characters already) was an exhilirating experience. It was fun (with admittedly a dash of frustration at times), educational (I can "finger test" a steak in my sleep), and a real test of patience and compromise. Pacing was on a whole different level here- I have so much to learn. But despite all the drama and delays, crossing the finish line will always be worth all that hard work.

So please, pardon the shameless plugging, but I do hope this labor of love (blood, sweat, and tears included) and a semblance of a marathon finds its way into your Christmas lists.

Oh, and did I mention that the proceeds will go to charity too? ;)

{Both hardbound and softbound versions include handy pull-outs.}

{This was the cover that didn't make it. What do you think? Can you spot the difference?}

Check out a sample recipe here.

A Beer in Killer Pink

{ Pink Killer, the cutesy-patootsy packaged beer, packs a wallop.}
{Okay, okay, maybe it's just me...}
.
I'm not much of a beer connoisseur, just a lover of cool flavored drinks (this one's Pink Grapefruit. How fun!) and even cooler packaging. Spotted at The Distillery (tentative name- the establishment is nameless and signage-less as of the moment) at Fort Bonifacio.

Psst! Get pink'd at Beautynomics Blog.

Sitting Pretty— in Pink!

I'm not really a big pink person, but I'm loving these chairs! They're being auctioned off online, and the proceeds will go to a charity dedicated to fighting the Big C.

No plans of bidding— I'm not so sure what I'm going to do if I actually win! haha. I'll stick to supporting the cause by running. Meantime, I can always have my wishlist!

Wonder Walls

During my home-gym rat days, a treadmill was a staple piece in the house. How often it was used remained to be seen. Eventually, it evolved to become a towel rack/shoe cabinet/dog bed. An obtrusive, unsightly one at that. (Thank God, it's gone now.)

I stumbled on these ingenious indoor climbing walls on the net. Talk about sosyal climbing. A great solution for the would-be white elephants of the fitness kind. Now, the only problem would be getting someone to actually step on these gorgeous art pieces.

Functional and fabulous... I want!

Seeing The White

Below are some pegs that got me thinking that white is, indeed, right. I'm pretty flexible though (Read: An unpredicatable Gemini. Not to mention a sometime yogi. haha), so my vision can probably still change. Right now, I'm just going with the flow, having fun, and letting my creative nature take it's own course.

I love how a white canvas makes everything else pop-out without it looking cluttered or competing against each other.

Unfinished walls add character. And it gives off that loft-like, warehouse appeal.

You got me at Black & White.
Oh, and DOG.
(If only I can get a decent shot of Imp...)

The Power of Packaging

{A Healthy Reminder: Stash tea in your body.}

Isn't it fun that you find inspiration in the oddest places? I happen to be a sucker for commercialized commodities.

This little guy has been sitting on top of my monitor and staring at me for months. So, I guess it was only fair that I stare back, right? Black. White. Silver. Gold. Purple. It was love at first sight.

I've always toyed with the idea of an all-white studio (maybe 3 walls and an accent one) for a number of reasons:
  1. It's reminiscent of my former work room (which has been sneakily converted into a stock room when I was away on my "sabbatical")
  2. It's a make-the-room-look-bigger-and-brighter interior illusion
  3. It matches my beloved Macky (Yes, I named my mac Mack. I know, I know, so utterly original...)
  4. It's an instant background for "dropping out" projects
  5. It's like a big, white sheet of paper waiting to be drawn on. (Perfect for mental notes!)
Hmm, or will it look unimaginative, cold, clinical, drab... and God forbid, SAFE !??!!

Whaddya think?

(I can always use the white as a base coat.)
